While we were at the Grand Canyon we went on the train ride thinking that the kids would love it. For some reason Ruby decided she didn't want to get on the train - love it when kids throw you a curve ball. Anyways, the gift shop thankfully had some overpriced rocks that we let her pick out, & after Tyler told a convincing story about the rocks being magical & giving her courage to get on the train, we were in business. And you better believe that if you come to our house these days, she's going to tell you all about her magical rocks.
This girl loves anything little & calls them her "treasures".
Noah took his morning nap like this on the train.
Oh, these two!
Our last night there we spent taking bus rides & hiking out to different parts of the canyon & even though our kids were exhausted, we managed to make it till sunset. It was incredible & Tyler & I kept saying quietly to each other, "This is awesome". And we even managed to get a picture of our motley crew with all of us looking at the camera! Did I mention this trip was a lot of work?? It was. And I often felt like Mary Poppins trying to pull everything under the sun out of my bag to keep the children happy & socially acceptable. But, this also might be my favorite memory thus far with these people that I love most. There is something so refreshing about spending time in nature, free from distraction. See you again soon, Grand Canyon!
