iPhone Update

These two kill me with what cute friends they are. Seeing them interacting together & getting along so well is easily making this my favorite stage yet. I remember growing up I would sometimes catch my mom staring at me & I would always wonder why she did that. But now that I'm a mom I totally get it. I could stare at these 2 (and do) all day long.

Ruby on her way home from trying gelato for the first time. She thought she was super fancy & kept saying, "Dad it's not ice cream, it's gelato."

Noah has been loving anything super hero lately & was over the moon when I got him this Iron Man. It must be a boy thing, because he doesn't know who any of them are, he just really likes them.

Trips to the Sweet Tooth Fairy make these kids really happy.

Weekly trips to the library because it is so hot outside. Dreaming of cooler weather pretty much daily.

And this boy who still wants to snuggle & hold my hand & give me kisses even though he's about to be two. Which basically means that I'm a total sucker for him.
Ruby picked this hat out herself & I couldn't say no when I saw how pleased she was when she saw herself in it. She loves it & wears it almost every day & I think she's the cutest in it.

Noah has been loving all thing planes, trains, & automobiles. Which is the reason why I can now explain the difference between a backhoe loader & a giant excavator.

Summertime

These two have been loving playing "hot lava" & run as fast as they can from end of the house to the other squealing & yelling, "Hot! Hot! Hot!"  They play so well together & I really hope it lasts!

I feel like I've entered a new season of motherhood where life has just gotten a little easier. Ruby & Noah play really well together & can occupy themselves for extended periods of time. Everyone is walking on their own 2 feet & Noah is talking more & more all the time & it's just really, really fun right now.

Ruby has been all about her babies lately & I love hearing her play pretend. She's a good little mama.

Anytime I'm making dinner or have any food on the counter, Noah pushes a kitchen chair up & helps himself to whatever is there. From asparagus to cookie dough to watermelon, he eats it all. There's almost nothing that boy doesn't like.

Best Friends

These two have been the best of friends this week. They've been inseparable & I have loved hearing them in one of their bedrooms laughing & playing together. Or giving hugs & kisses unprompted when one of them is sad. Or holding hands as they walk somewhere together. Nothing makes me happier than seeing these two love each other so well.

Happy 4th

Ruby Lately

Life with a 3 (almost 4) year old is where it's at. It seems like Ruby has at least a couple of really awesome one-liners each day, but here are a few that I've written down lately:

Me: Did you throw your trash away?
Ruby: Yes.
Me: Then how come I see it on the table?
Ruby: Mom, your hair looks gorgeous.

When Noah was crying, "Don't worry Noah, It's okay. Heavenly Father & Jesus will help you."

Me: I have a question for you.
Ruby: Oooh, let's do this! I love questions!

When we were at the splash pad & Noah was getting pushed around, "Hey kid! You get away from him! That's my brother!"

After we finished explaining why we celebrate Memorial Day:
"I love soldiers & bad guys, they're my favorite."

In the middle of a really busy park Ruby yells at full octave, "Mom! All of these people are crazy!"

When Ruby saw a VW Bug, "Oooh I like that car."
Me: You know what it's called? A Bug.
Ruby: Eww! That's a disgusting name!

Father's Day

Today we got the chance to celebrate Tyler & all he does for our little family. He's a really, really good dad & it's something that has always come so easily & naturally to him. It makes me grateful to have him by my side. He is so good to Ruby & Noah & it shows in the way that they adore him. I think we would all agree that at our house, everything is better when dad is home. We love you Tyler!!
