Christmas 2015

Christmas was so, so good this year. Ruby & Noah were so excited about everything & it was fun to have Noah really understand it all. As soon as they woke up each morning they would hurry down the stairs to search for the Elf on the Shelf. I might have been the most sad to say goodbye to that little elf...we had some really good behavior for the month of December thanks to him. But mostly this month was great because it gives our family a chance to focus a little more on what's most important. I want my kids to love Christmas & remember all the fun traditions, but more than anything I want them to know Jesus is real & that He lives & loves us. Here are a few highlights from the holiday:
I love Christmas Sunday so much.

Ruby has always loved the nativity & really got into her role of Mary this year. I loved hearing her & Noah talk about baby Jesus all month.

Noah, on the other hand, was not so into the nativity. He started out as a shepherd & then switched to an angel, & then just kind of laid on the floor sans costume.

On Christmas Eve they both got to open their jammies & one present. Then we made sugar cookies for Santa & drove around looking at Christmas lights.

This was pretty much Ruby's expression while opening presents. Either wide eyed or screaming with excitement. I love how excited she gets over the littlest things & how fun she makes everything for our family.

And Noah was just as excited but in a much more quiet way. He just opened each present with this cute little smile on his face & then wanted to play with whatever toy he was holding at the moment.

And Santa brought a trampoline this year. It was so fun seeing Ruby & Noah's expression when we took them out back & surprised them once all of the presents were open.

Anytime we asked Noah what he wanted for Christmas he said, "Mickey Mouse". So he was so excited when he opened this gift.

Little Things I Want to Remember

Ruby loves to ride her scooter & goes as fast as she can up & down our street. She loves to do little tricks on it & here she is right before preschool. She loves preschool more than ever this year & when I pick her up & ask her how her day was she usually says, "It was the best day at preschool!" I love my little Anne of Green Gables.

Noah is never far behind Ruby & has gotten so good on his scooter. I'm always amazed at how much faster he learns things with an older sibling to watch. He is talking like crazy & I love being able to have little conversations with him & having him totally get what's going on. Toddlers get a bad rap, but I really like them.

These two are at such great ages right now. I feel like I've said that a million times, but it's so true. They play so great together & I can go places with no diaper bag or stroller which is pretty much a game changer.

I signed Ruby up for EVMCO which is an amazing choir in our area & after she preformed I gave her these flowers. She was so cute when I gave them to her & she loved them. I was really proud of her for facing her fears & performing in front of a huge audience. She's so good at being brave.

Noah is 100% boy & I feel like every time I turn around he has a stick in his hand or is pretending to be fighting "bad guys". I can't figure out where he would have even picked this up so I'm thinking it's just a boy thing. And I kind of think it's the cutest.

This girl never tires of her swing.

Noah has been loving to build block towers & then knock them over & laugh. He's always so proud of them & says, "Look mom!" every time he adds a new block. He's such a lover & still loves to be held & I can't help but kiss his cheeks all day long. I make him promise on the regular to never grow up, because 2 year old Noah is as good as it gets.
Anytime Ruby here's my kitchenaid mixing, she comes from wherever she is in the house her fastest & has a chair pulled up to the counter in no time. She's my helper & loves to tell me, "When I'm a mommy, I'm going to make cookies." (Or whatever it is that we're making) She tells me weekly that she's going to have 5 babies when she's a mommy. Yes, please.

I love his little smile & he has a way of making everyone fall in love with him. He regularly will say, "Hi girls!" when we walk by a group of older girls or will start waving & smiling. He already loves the ladies & I have no doubt the ladies will love him. Heaven help me!
