A Tuesday Afternoon

Ruby & I spent the day at home today and by mid-afternoon we were both a little restless. I decided to make some edible finger paint and turn Ruby loose with it. Needless to say she loved it and painted her little heart out all while saying, "Happy, happy, happy!"

We finished the afternoon off with popsicles and then headed straight upstairs for a bath. It was a good afternoon.

Dear Ruby,

From the moment I first laid eyes on you I knew I loved & adored you. And when you were just a few months old I knew you were going to be a lot of fun. But goodness, gracious, you have really outdone yourself! I feel like every time I turn around you're more fun & I don't know how that's even possible any more. You are killing it. I love, love, love you!

An Afternoon Out

The other day Tyler & I took Ruby for a bike ride to a nature preserve by our house & then turned Ruby loose & watched while she smelled every single flower & chased any duck or rabbit in sight. It does my heart good to see that girl running wild & free & happy. She has made our lives so wonderful.

Things I Want to Remember

Ruby's hair is barely long enough to put into pigtails now. Do you know how long I've been waiting for pigtails?! 18 months people.

This girl gives the sweetest kisses & lots of them.

Tyler's garden is flourishing & it cracks me up because one day he decided, "I think I'll plant a garden" & then the next thing I know he's growing amazing vegetables & makes it look so easy. That's Tyler in a nutshell.

My dad has been coming over several times a week & playing with Ruby or taking her on walks to the park. She loves it & cries everytime he leaves. Lucky little girl.

Ruby likes to eat her snacks at the kitchen table now like a "big girl".

Ruby is so attached to her paci & her silky blanket. Little does she know her days with that paci are numbered.
